Public Transport
-
Train: Take a regional train to Ivrea railway station (served by Trenitalia on the Chivasso–Ivrea–Aosta line).
-
Long-distance buses: Some intercity buses also stop at Ivrea stops near the station and in town.
-
It’s about a 10-15 minute walk from Ivrea railway station to Piazza Ottinetti through the city streets — the square is in the pedestrianised centre on Via Palestro.
You can also take a local bus part of the way if you prefer not to walk:
-
Public bus stops near the station include Ivrea (Railway Station) and Ivrea – Transport Center (both short walks from trains).
-
Local urban routes (e.g., buses numbered 108, 133, 143, 145, 151 and others) stop around the main city streets close to the centre — get off near stops on Corso Re Umberto I or Via Jervis/Via Montenavale and walk a few minutes to Piazza Ottinetti.
-
Tip: Since the square is in the city centre, walking from the train station is often simplest and fastest unless you have mobility needs or heavy luggage.
-
Tickets: For regional trains, buy tickets in advance online or at the station. For buses, local tickets can be bought at stations, kiosks, or sometimes on board (check local fare rules).

The registration desks will be open 1hr 30mins before the start of each race.
Race Bib Placement
Your race bib must be worn visibly on your chest at all times during the race. Please do not fold, wrinkle, or modify the bib, and make sure it is not covered by a jacket, running belt, hydration pack, or any other item.
Proper bib placement is essential for identification, safety, and accurate timing—help us keep everything running smoothly.
Is chip timing used for the races?
Yes, all events are chip-timed to ensure accurate results. Finish times will be posted online shortly after the race on our official event page.
Keep an eye out for updates, and don’t forget to share your results with friends and family!
Headphone Usage
The use of headphones is discouraged.
Open ear/bone conducting headphones are permitted to be used. Please ensure that you can hear all announcements and remain aware of your surroundings, including other participants, and that the volume is low enough so that the sound is not audible to other runners.
Please take any or all considerations seriously by race officials regarding course safety.

Yes – there is a mandatory pre-race briefing held 15 minutes before the start of each race in Base Camp.

What should I expect regarding weather and terrain?
Set in Ivrea, Italy, Corsa dei 5 Laghi is a three-distance race set within the spectacular Ivrea Morainic Amphitheatre — a landscape of glacial hills, forests and lakes just north of the city. While rich in natural scenery, this is a road-shoe-friendly mixed-terrain event, with approximately a 70/30 bias toward road and hard-packed surfaces, making it fast, runnable and accessible to a wide range of runners.
It’s always a good idea to keep your eye on the long/short-term forecasts and be ready with the right kit and train in the conditions where possible.
How are race rules and regulations enforced?
To ensure fairness and safety for all participants, race rules and regulations are actively monitored throughout the event. Here’s how:
Volunteers and safety personnel are positioned at regular intervals along the course, with additional roaming race agents observing and supporting runners.
These teams are there to ensure compliance with race regulations, safety advice, and environmental guidelines.
Spot checking of runners’ kit will take place at Base Camp before the race starts, so please arrive prepared and allow time for this process.
Race finishers may also be spot-checked for the mandatory kit at the Race Director’s discretion.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us deliver a safe, fair, and enjoyable race experience for everyone.
Are there shower and changing facilities?
We will provide free toilets and showers close to the race village.
Can I bring walking poles?
Yes, you bring walking poles to these races.
Who should I contact for further questions or concerns?
If you have further questions, please address your inquiry to [email protected]
Are there any environmental or local regulations to follow?
Respecting and preserving the stunning locations of the trail races is at the core of RunThrough Trails. It’s a responsibility that we share with all participants, staff and partners.
We kindly ask all participants to help reduce human impact by keeping noise to a minimum, especially in forested or wildlife-sensitive areas, and by staying on marked trails to avoid damaging fragile vegetation.
When passing through land with gates, please close all gates that you pass through in order to keep animals and the public safe, respecting the farmers and local wildlife.
Any littering will result in disqualification from the event.
Your awareness and respect for the environment help ensure that events like this can continue to take place in such stunning natural settings. Let’s all do our part to protect it.
